Tangalle to Galle

After waking up to see the sunrise, I set off to Galle, about 2.5 hrs by bus from Tangalle. I am beginning to like these crazy bus journeys. They are hot, sweaty and cramped but they are really cheap and there is lots to see out the windows and you go through different towns.

Sunrise

I am staying in Galle Fort, formerly a Dutch quarter. The architecture is time-warped with Dutch period villas with their original street facing verandas, churches and other colonial landmarks. It is very pretty. It is also incredibly touristy with incredibly touristy prices to boot.
I am staying in a cheap guesthouse which is by far the worst I have stayed in so far. It's not exactly terrible but it's a bit run down and shabby and my mattress is horrible.

I managed to find a way to spend way more money than I had budgeted for - Ceylon Spa. It is not like the previous massage places that local Sri Lankans use. This is a proper fancy, meditation music, scented candles, bathrobes type place i.e Western spa. I had the 'Ultimate Foot and Leg' massage and it was awesome. It was also cheap . 90 mins for 3500R/£17. (I loved it so much I may go back again tomorrow).
